PWNers- Matt at New York Squares is introducing you to Sicilian style pizza. It’s NOT Detroit, no deep dish Little Caesar’s stuff. Sicilian has a thicker crust than traditional New York style, cut into squares, and has a chewier crust. The toppings are authentic New York - you won’t find abominations like pineapple, Canadian bacon, or ranch anywhere near. But, you will find real homemade meatball pizza, which is off the hook. Matt told us he grew up in Queens making pizza with his nonna and brought his nonna’s recipe when he moved here. The pie is made fresh to order, so expect to wait a few minutes. The taste is out of this world!
This pizza is so so so good. Incredible sauce, crust, and ingredients. You can do 4 different slices on the pie and customize your pizza as you like. I absolutely can’t wait to go back. I eat a lot of pizza and have tried tons of pizza all over Oregon, this is at the peak for me. The owner is also super nice and just passionate about pizza the vibes were immaculate!! My partner and I can’t wait to come back!
10/10 highly recommend this place! Amazing atmosphere and high quality pizza. As someone with celiacs, finding pizza that actually tastes like fluffy, real dough is extremely difficult. New York Squares out did themselves! They take all precautions possible without being able to hold an entirely GF kitchen and I felt comfortable after speaking with the owner (who was more than welcoming) and talking about their process. We definitely found our new pizza joint and will be back!
This is quite possibly in the top 5 of best pizza I’ve ever had! The sourdough crust is INSANE! On top of that, the cheese, and other toppings are amazing, and you can tell that they are high quality! The owner was so kind, he gave us drinks and merch on the house just for coming in, and gave us a buzzer so we could walk to local vintage shops while he cooked our pizzas from scratch! I live all the way in Vancouver, WA- I would easily drive the 1.5 hrs for this pizza! These guys deserve to grow their business %1000!
Holy!!! Stopped in for the first time today with my kids. I wasn’t expecting to have what felt like a religious experience over pizza but here I am, writing this review, URGING you to give New York Squares the love they deserve. Crust was unreal. Cheese? Unreal. Selection? You already know. Genuinely though, every bite was perfect. It’s no small feat to create something so special. Big shout out to Mike. You were incredibly personable and friendly to everyone who walked in your door. I know just how hard running a business is. You’re obviously passionate about what you do and it shows in every aspect. You don’t just walk into a place like this every day! New York Squares deserves all the love and support from our community. You should go. Like now. Yesterday would have been better but that’s alright. A true Independence treasure!
My husband and I came here for the first time and got half the Buffalo Chicken and half Diavola- SO good! Neither of us could really decide which was the favorite, because both were cooked to absolute perfection, full of flavor, and so fresh. The owners and staff were really nice and willing to answer our questions- the seating area is clean, with lots to look at. Definitely will be coming back and highly recommend if you’re in the area to give these guys a try. So worth it.
BEST PIZZA WE HAVE EVER HAD!!! I am now a fan of pizza again!!! My husband and I will be back…probably within the next couple days do yourself and your friend a favor and go get some IMMEDIATELY IF NOT SOONER!!! The owners are the nicest sweetest people with the best vibe and energy! You will not be disappointed!! Options for all!!
This place is incredible! They hooked us up with pizza in a pinch for a wedding and it ended up being some of the best pizza we’ve ever had!! Friendly service, super tasty food, and a great value. We grabbed some merch and hope we get to come back! Thank you!!
